About
Elyette Levy
Montreal, QC, Canada
Elyette Levy grew up on the outskirts of Montreal, Quebec, in a French-Taiwanese household. After obtaining her college degree in Commerce, she decided to major in Journalism and Political Science at Concordia University, in the hopes of pursuing a career as foreign correspondent.
During her Bachelor's, she spent a semester in Singapore studying political philosophy and traveling through Southeast Asia. She has interned at Equitas, a Montreal-based international human rights education organization, and was invited as the moderator of their EquiTalks: Youth, Power and the Pandemic panel in April 2021. Throughout the last year of her undergrad, Elyette took on the position of Assistant Commentary Editor at The Concordian and of Editorial Intern for the Daily Hive. She has also gotten involved with the Transformative Justice Collective (TJC), a Singaporean collective fighting for prison justice reform.
Currently working as a video journalist for a community TV station, she produces the daily news show, La Zone de l'information, and often gets involved in side-projects, including Dans tes souliers, a feature show on the topic of diversity.
She often finds herself reading up on international politics, digital culture, fashion, and visual arts. When she isn’t out and about admiring the city, you can find her trying to better her Mandarin, or restlessly working away on her sewing machine.
Elyette has professional and academic experience in writing, editing, social media management, photography, videography and video editing, and graphic design.
