I just finished my first half-day of work at the Daily Hive. It went well, I was a bit nervous at first but the team has been very helpful. We started the day with an e-meeting (I'll be working remotely for the whole term) and I got started right away with an assignment covering an Angus Reid poll about how Canadians feel about the COVID vaccine.
It was pretty straightforward, though I found it challenging to adapt to the platform they use. We do all our work on WordPress, which I've used before and know my way around, but I wasn't as familiar with the SEO functions and tags that they use, which is what I got the most comments on. Now that I've got the first day out of the way and that I know what to expect when writing a piece, I feel a little more confident.
